Support. Information. Hope.

About Us

Second Saturday began in San Diego in 1989, founded by visionary advocates and financial educators Candace Bahr and Ginita Wall through the non-profit Women’s Institute for Financial Education (WIFE.org). The original workshops were created to address what divorce truly involves—family, emotion, and money—and quickly became a lifeline for those navigating that difficult transition. Over the years, thousands have found clarity, community, and hope through these workshops, thanks to the grassroots support and dedication of Bahr and Wall.

About Second Saturday

In 2024, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst Taylor Mavrakos launched the Second Saturday Tampa Bay chapter to address the unique needs of individuals and families in our community. Serving both Pinellas and Hillsborough counties, this local chapter connects participants with trusted area professionals who understand Florida laws, the Tampa Bay real estate market, and the emotional realities of divorce. By tailoring the proven Second Saturday model to the specific challenges and opportunities in our region, Taylor created a safe, confidential space where residents can find clear, unbiased information and begin building the right support network close to home.

Our hope is that each person leaves a free Second Saturday Tampa Bay workshop feeling more informed, more supported, and more confident about their next steps. You’ll gain practical knowledge about the legal, financial, emotional, and real estate aspects of divorce, along with connections to local professionals who can guide you further. Most importantly, you’ll walk away knowing you’re not alone — and that you have the tools, resources, and community to move forward with clarity and strength.
